Faith Today won four awards last week from the Canadian Christian Communicators Association, plus another nine second/third place awards. Congratulations to all the winners!

• The A.C. Forrest Memorial Award (circulation 10,000+) for excellence in socially conscious religious journalism went to Amy MacLachlan for "Bucking the System: Can we end chronic poverty in Canada? Christian advocates are saying yes" (May/Jun 2019)
• The Best Magazine Front Cover Award (circulation 10,000+) went to designer Janice Van Eck for "The Grace of Aging" (Mar/Apr 2019)
• Best Theological Reflection went to Maxine Hancock for "Still Time: The Beautiful Grace of Aging, Community and Friends" (Mar/Apr 2019)
• Best Podcast Series went to The EFC Podcast. Three chosen episodes: Michael Messenger (7 Nov 2019), Leith Anderson (30 Oct 2019), Anna Robbins (7 May 2019)   Interviewer: Karen Stiller Producer: David Auyeung

Faith Today and Love Is Moving are also co-sponsors for a Student Award category, which was won this year by Kayla Boone of The King's University for her article Called to Justice, about the Report on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (in Christian Courier).

And last month, Faith Today writers won awards in the annual contest held by The Word Guild, a national association of writers and other interested Christians.

• The new journalist award, named for trailblazers Bob Harvey and Lloyd Mackey, went to Preston Pouteaux for “Caring for Politicians” (Jul/Aug 2019). Pouteaux is an Alberta pastor who also serves in an editorial advisory group at Faith Today.
• Best Column Series went to Carolyn Arends for articles in her Go With God series (Getting our stories straight, It takes a global village).
• She also won best Personal Experience article for Stoicism isn't spiritual (Nov/Dec 2019)
• Best Long Feature went to Amy MacLachlan for "Bucking the System: Can we end chronic poverty in Canada? Christian advocates are saying yes" (May/Jun 2019)
• Best News Article went to Craig Macartney for How hope rose from the ashes of the Rwandan genocide (Nov/Dec 2019)
• He also won best Profile/Human Interest article for Persecuted, but not struck down: How three persecuted Christians – from Iraq, Egypt, and Myanmar – are making Canada home (Mar/Apr 2019)
• Best Short Feature went to Alex Newman for Christian Postsecondary schools are a good investment: Report highlights benefits to the spiritual and academic lives of youth (Jan/Feb 2019)
• Poetry winner was Dagmar Morgan for There is no free meal, published in Love Is Moving. (Mar/Apr 2019)
